All of this is a product of how we interpreted and learned to organize reality in the first place; especially in relationship to us. That is what makes self-knowledge so elusive. To avoid the pain of not knowing, we simply substitute the illusion of self-knowledge which is actually just another form of resistance. That is why we must learn to question everything, especially the things we take as givens in our life.
